Elo Ratings
USL Championship
Hartford v Tampa Bay
3.40 - 3.75 - 1.83
This is a series Tampa Bay has long since controlled, seven wins all time against Hartford, including their last three meetings. Hartford has not beaten Tampa Bay since July 2021. However, Hartford do find themselves unbeaten in their last three games played at home, a streak they have not had at home since September 2022. Tampa Bay is averaging 1.93 goals a match and has 5 clean sheets on the year. Not an easy trip to the northeast, but one where the Rowdies need to win to further secure their spot in the top four of the East.
Bet: Tampa Bay to win (1.83)
Monterey Bay v Oakland
2.00 - 3.25 - 3.20
A match on ESPN2 on Saturday evening to kick off the USLC slate of the day. This series all-time has been split two wins for both teams and one draw, but it is Monterey Bay who have gone unbeaten in their last two meetings. And yet, Oakland has won both games played in Monterey Bay. Oakland has really picked up in form as of late, having won four of their last five games, meanwhile Monterey Bay has just one win in their last five, with just two goals scored in that time.
Bet: Oakland win or tie, over 1 total goal (2.20)
Indy Eleven v Orange County
1.65 - 3.70 - 4.20
Indy Eleven picked up another win last week to make eight in a row in the league. This is reaching historic levels of success for not just Indy Eleven, but in USL history—longest win streak in the league was Phoenix 2019 with 20, but FC Cincinnati with 10 from 2018 is more than attainable. Orange County, though not a club to be taken lightly as they have scored in their last three games, has managed only one win in their last six. I foresee Indy Eleven extending their winning streak.
Bet: Indy Eleven to win and over 2 total goals scored (2.50)
Miami FC v Loudoun
3.20 - 3.20 - 2.00
Miami FC is bad, the side has lost their last seven matches in a row. Impressively, in each of the games they had scored in during that run, Miami were either leading or tied at the time of scoring, only to go on and lose that match. On just five occasions this year have Miami held their opponents to just one goal or less in the match. Loudoun meanwhile, have only won one match away from home all season. This seems like the perfect chance for Loudoun to pick up their second away win of the season, but Miami could prove to frustrate teams.
Bet: Loudoun to win, BTTS (3.75)
North Carolina v Pittsburgh
2.15 - 3.30 - 2.90
A defeat midweek to Louisville made is seven in a row without a win for Pittsburgh, who have not looked like the usual Lilleyball teams of past. North Carolina meanwhile have just one defeat in their last five games (also at the hands of Louisville), but have turned Cary into one of the more challenging places to go into and play, as NCFC have lost just one match at home all season.
Bet: North Carolina win or tie, under 3 goals scored (2.37)
Louisville v Rhode Island
1.36 - 4.20 - 7.00
The longest odds of the weekend, and maybe of the season, features Rhode Island at 7.00 longshot odds to beat Louisville at Lynn Family Stadium—a ground where Louisville is a perfect 7-0-0 at this year with just 6 goals conceded in that time. Rhode Island are much better away from home than they are at home this year, but Louisville at home is on a Manchester City at the Etihad like run of form right now that it is hard to see the New England outfit leaving with three points.
Bet: Louisville to win by 2 or more goals and over 2 goals scored in the match (2.60)
Tulsa v Sacramento
3.40 - 3.40 - 1.90
In the all-time history of this series, Tulsa has never beaten Sacramento before—13 all-time meetings, nine wins for Republic and four draws. While Tulsa has picked up a pair of 1-1 draws in their last two matchups, Sacramento has never quite been a club Tulsa has been able to break down. I will say, historically, this fixture has seen goals in it, 11 of the 13 all-time meetings have seen BTTS, while 9 of the 13 meetings have seen over 2.5 goals.
Bet: Sacramento to win, BTTS (4.00)
New Mexico v Colorado Springs
1.83 - 3.30 - 3.70
This might sneakily be the best game of the weekend, you have two teams in the top five of the Western Conference right now, each with three wins in their last five games and are averaging nearly 1.5 goals scored a match. Interestingly, Colorado Springs has never won a match against New Mexico United in New Mexico during the series all-time history (the COVID 2020 year meant New Mexico had to play many games at Colorado Springs so the series is lopsided in that sense). 12 of the 15 all-time meetings have seen BTTS, while 11 of the 15 meetings have seen over 2.5 goals.
Bet: BTTS (1.80)
Las Vegas v Memphis
2.60 - 3.50 - 2.25
Las Vegas has not beaten Memphis in any of their last three meetings. Memphis capped off a three match home stand unbeaten, with a 2-1 win over New Mexico—that featured one of the funniest penalty calls in USL history. Memphis has been scoring goals for fun in recent weeks, having found the back of the net in 12 of their 15 games played, but just two clean sheets to show for it. When these two teams met back in March to open the year, it was a 2-1 win for 901 FC. This could be another match that features goals in it.
Bet: Over 2.5 goals (1.70)
Phoenix v Charleston
2.55 - 3.30 - 2.37
I have really cooled any bets as of recent weeks that would favor Charleston. The Battery seem to still be suffering from their US Open Cup hangover, as I have been calling it until they win another match. Interestingly, it was this time last year that saw Charleston go three consecutive games without a goal. Both teams will look to this match as one to sort of “restart” their seasons, particularly Charleston who do not want to make it five matches without a win.
Bet: Over 1.5 goals (1.28)
USL1
Knoxville v Greenville
2.35 - 3.10 - 2.70
Outside of the two clubs’ first meeting back in 2023, Greenville has won the three games played between these two clubs since then. Knoxville had their hearts broken at 90+5’ last time out, conceding the late winner to Northern Colorado, and has quietly been on poor form as of late, just two wins in their last seven. Greenville have three wins away from home this year, only Omaha have picked up more in the league.
Bet: Greenville to win (2.70)
Richmond v Northern Colorado
2.87 - 3.20 - 2.20
Across all competitions, Northern Colorado has turned into USL1’s hottest team, having gone unbeaten in their last seven games and winning four of them. One key feature of those seven games unbeaten for Northern Colorado is that they were unable to keep a clean sheet in any of them. Northern Colorado’s last clean sheet came back in March (0-0 v Lexington). Richmond meanwhile have not won a match at home since April 6 and it is hard to see them knocking off the in-form team of USL1 with a win of their own.
Bet: Northern Colorado to win or tie, over 2 total goals (2.90)
Chattanooga v Tormenta FC
2.30 - 3.70 - 2.45
Weirdly, the last three games of this series has seen a team score exactly four goals in each of them—including a 4-4 draw from August 2023. Tormenta have not lost to Chattanooga since August 2022. However, Tormenta have just one win in their last nine games against USL1 opposition, while Chattanooga have just one win in their last six games. Chattanooga needs a win to get back into playoff contention in the league while Tormenta just needs to end this winless run.
Bet: Over 2.5 goals (1.50)
Spokane v Lexington
No odds as of writing
This match will be Spokane’s fifth home game in their last six games, however unfortunately for Spokane, this home stand has only resulted in one win for the Velocity. Lexington has been very streaky to begin the year, usually seeing like results follow each other. Lexington has made for an unpredictable team to bet on but what is consistent with the side is that Lexington concedes goals. They’ve let in 2 goals a game this year in the league.
Bet: Over 3 total goals
