Elo Ratings
USL Championship
Friday, June 14
Loudoun v Las Vegas
1.90 - 3.30 - 3.50
I have had this game circled on my calendar since the season began. This is my USL Super Bowl, the match I root for everyone to have fun in, players and those watching. Last year, these two clubs met for the first time that saw Loudoun leave Las Vegas with a 3-0 win. I think Loudoun prevail in this meeting again, the Lights have not won a road match against the East since April 2022 (2-1 v Charleston).
Bet: Loudoun to win (1.90)
Saturday, June 15
Detroit v Charleston
3.50 - 3.25 - 1.95
Detroit was able to end their winless run with a victory over Rhode Island last week while Charleston have made it three games without a win and two games having been shut out. In two meetings between these clubs held at Keyworth, they have been 1-0 results for Detroit. None of the four all-time meetings between these teams have seen BTTS. I think this match goes under 2.5 goals.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals (1.90)
Hartford v Pittsburgh
2.70 - 3.20 - 2.37
Despite very brief speculation midweek that Bob Lilley would be a candidate for the open Nashville SC job—of which I wrote a quick article pondering what would happen if that occurred on Football Manager—Lilley appears here to stay with Pittsburgh, as they face a Hartford side they utterly control the series against. 10 wins all-time vs Hartford’s sole victory (which came in 2020, eight matches ago). However this Pittsburgh team is very different to the one of year’s past, now winless in their last five games in the league. Hartford are just one win in their last eight games in the league. Perhaps it is worth an upset pick for Hartford to win, but I’m not sure this game will have any winners.
Bet: Draw (3.20)
Indy Eleven v San Antonio
2.00 - 3.40 - 3.10
Indy Eleven continue to fly high in the league, now on a seven game winning streak. San Antonio meanwhile had a week from hell last week, losing to new manager bounce El Paso at home, and a poor defeat to out of form Tulsa away. They travel to Indiana facing a team on the best form in the league now.
Bet: Indy Eleven to win, over 2 total goals (3.00)
Tampa Bay v Louisville
2.35 - 3.50 - 2.50
This match between two USL heavyweights is a bout that always tends to deliver exciting games. 9 of the 14 all-time meetings have seen BTTS. However, Al Lang Stadium is a tough place for Louisville to enter and leave with all three points, their last win away at the Rowdies came in July 2018. The Rowdies are the second best team in the East right now for home games, only behind Louisville, but this Louisville team will be difficult to break down.
Bet: BTTS (1.57)
Memphis v New Mexico
1.95 - 3.50 - 3.10
This is the third all-time meeting between these two teams and the first having been played in Memphis. New Mexico were 4-1 winners last time they played Memphis in 2023. Memphis extended their unbeaten run at home to four after a crazy 2-2 draw midweek with Rhode Island that saw 901 FC score both of their goals in 90’+ time. I do believe both teams should find the back of the net in this match at least.
Bet: BTTS, Memphis or New Mexico to win (2.25)
Colorado Springs v Orange County
1.80 - 3.40 - 3.80
Despite the draw last week ending their five game winning streak, the Switchbacks maintained their unbeaten run of seven consecutive games. Orange County have lost four of their last five games as well, and have not won a match away from home since April 6th. I am still not sure what to make of this Orange County team, a side who have only been shutout in four games this season, but Colorado Springs have only conceded one goal per game in the league this year.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals (1.90)
El Paso v Phoenix
2.60 - 3.20 - 2.40
El Paso continue their new manager bounce off the backs of their second win of the Cabrera Era™. Locomotive have scored in each of the three games played during Cabrera’s tenure, and face a Phoenix team with just one win away from home this season—April 26th v Rhode Island. It might be the best chance to positive money on games this weekend of a home team, but take El Paso to win.
Bet: El Paso to win (2.60)
Sacramento v Oakland
1.50 - 3.90 - 5.25
This Northern California derby, when hosted by Sacramento, has never seen Oakland walk away with three points. Oakland’s lone win in the series came in 2021. These games have seen five BTTS matches in 10 all-time meetings, and neither team are averaging over 1.5 goals per game this season in the league. I could see a tight match, that goes the way of Republic in the end.
Bet: Sacramento to win 1-0 (7.00)
North Carolina v Monterey Bay
2.15 - 3.20 - 3.00
A first time meeting between these two teams as it is North Carolina’s first season back in USLC since Monterey Bay had joined. Monterey Bay have not beaten a team currently in the Eastern Conference, away from home, since Indy Eleven in April 2023. North Carolina at home this season has seen four draws, two of which were 0-0 matches. This match is a tough one to predict personally, but I think it’s one that will not seen too many goals.
Bet: Under 2 goals (2.75)
USL1
Friday, June 14
Charlotte v Chattanooga
1.90 - 3.70 - 3.20
Through six all-time meetings, it is a perfectly balanced 2-2-2 series scoreline. Charlotte are unbeaten in their last three games against the Red Wolves. Chattanooga have not won in Charlotte during this series, nor have they held the Independence scoreless in a match.
Bet: Charlotte win or tie, over 3 total goals in the match (3.00)
Saturday, June 15
Madison v Tormenta
1.53 - 4.00 - 4.75
The last three fixtures involving Madison and Tormenta have been BTTS, two of which saw over 4.5 goals scored. The last two times this game has been held in Madison, it was Tormenta who walked out as winners, showing a rather tough opponent for the last unbeaten team in league for USL1. Madison, however, have won their last six games and do not appear to be slowing down anytime soon, outscoring opponents 14-4 in that run.
Bet: Madison to win, over 3 goals (3.25)
Central Valley Fuego v Richmond
No odds as of writing
This is peak USL1 After Dark™ content. All seven of these games in the series all-time have seen BTTS, six of which were over 2.5 goals (and a further five were over 3.5 goals). This series is averaging 4 goals a match-up. I think this game however, will all depend on which Richmond team chooses to show-up, as the Kickers have been shutout in three of their last five games.
Bet: BTTS, over 2.5 goals
